| Buying a new home, or in our case,
your first home, is a big decision. There are some many things to know, it is really great
to have someone you can trust to work for you. Our first real estate agent never called us
back, we always had to get in touch with her. My husband saw Amy Shair on the Home Buyers
channel and thought maybe we should find a new agent, and a buyer’s agent sounded
good to us. From the first time we met with Amy, we knew she would be able to help us with everything. One important thing was our 3 year old. She doesn’t like just anybody. At our first meeting with Amy, during a lull in our conversation, Katie looked at her and asked, "Are you going to help us find a house?". Amy said yes, she was going to try. We started looking at house in Sept. 1998. We went out several times over the next few months. Amy was always great with our daughter, involving her in the process, which was wonderful since kids need security when changes are happening. Amy was also patient with us, we fell in love with a different house each time we went out. After living in apartments and rental houses for 7 years, we got so excited we got carried away. But, by Christmas, Amy had found some lots and introduced us to a builder. Never had we expected to find a house so close to our dream house the first time out. The home buying process went extremely smooth. Amy was there every step of the way, explaining everything. We have friends who have bought houses recently, one didn’t have an agent and used the onsite agent at a community, and they had to get after the builder about something new every week it seemed. Another friend had an agent, but ended up doing a lot of the work herself. They were certainly envious of the easy time we had. My in-laws met Amy just before closing and were taken with her too. We had a personal crisis along the way, and Amy was there for us as a friend too. I recommend Amy to everyone I talk to who is looking to buy a house, and when it comes time to sell, Amy is the first person we’ll call.

| …When we were looking for a
Realtor in Raleigh, a friend of ours mentioned Amy as a possibility. As we did not
personally know her (at that point), we also interviewed a number of other Realtors. Amy
was the last realtor we talked with and we immediately knew that she was the right person
for us. After listening to what she had to say about the house and completing some of her suggestions (which we fully agreed with), the house went on the market. Before the first week was over, we had over a dozen walk-throughs and an offer on the table. In less than one week were able to put our house on the market, and then, immediately take it off… because we had sold it. Amy used her large network of repair and inspection contacts to solve every problem we had and some we didn’t even know we had like a problem that arose the day before we closed on the house. We have dealt with dozens of Realtors all over eastern North Carolina and Amy proved herself very capable of selling our house. Not only that, but she was able to do it in a way that my wife and I felt personally involved with the sale of the house… at least as much as we wanted to be involved. I would definitely recommend her to anyone wishing to sell his or her house. She always put in the extra effort for us and I believe she will for you as well. She still writes us to find out how things are going for us or if she can help us with anything in our new house…two months after closing with her.
